Frequently asked questions
- Is this Stock Trading Journal Template free?
- Yes. Download it as Excel, CSV or PDF with no signup or email.
- Does it work in Google Sheets?
- Yes. Open the Excel file in Google Sheets (File → Import) or import the CSV. The formulas work in both.
- How is the R multiple calculated?
- For a long trade: (exit − entry) ÷ (entry − stop loss). For a short trade the signs are flipped. P&L is R multiplied by your risk amount.
- What should I write in a stocks journal?
- Every trade: what you traded, why, where your stop and target were, how it ended, how you felt and whether you followed your rules. Review it weekly.
