Frequently asked questions

Is this Day Trading Journal Template free?
Yes. Download it as Excel, CSV or PDF with no signup or email.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Open the Excel file in Google Sheets (File → Import) or import the CSV. The formulas work in both.
How is the R multiple calculated?
For a long trade: (exit − entry) ÷ (entry − stop loss). For a short trade the signs are flipped. P&L is R multiplied by your risk amount.
What should I write in a day trading journal?
Every trade: what you traded, why, where your stop and target were, how it ended, how you felt and whether you followed your rules. Review it weekly.
